Short description
The PhD thesis program Clinical and Experimental Oncology cooperates with the N094 program "Malignant Diseases" and use common seminar courses. The thesis projects offered encompass translational and clinical projects investigating innovative approaches to cancer risk assessment, diagnosis, chemoprevention and therapy. In vitro and in vivo models are used to examine the cellular mechanisms of carcinogenic and chemopreventive compounds as well as newly developed cancer therapeutics. Translational research projects develop novel diagnostic procedures, new therapies and preventive strategies to combat cancer. Novel therapeutics and diagnostic procedures are evaluated in clinical studies.
